Iyengar yoga emphasises detail, precision, and alignment in the performance of yoga postures (asana). We use props, like straps, blocks, bolsters, and blankets, to help find proper support and alignment in our asana practice. The props enable us to perform the asanas correctly, while minimising the risk of injury or strain. Suitable for all levels.
Our Beginners' Yoga classes are suitable for people who are completely new to yoga as well as those with some experience. With a strong emphasis on body-sensitive alignment, our classes provide the perfect foundation for developing a solid yoga practice. Our teachers will guide you through each asana (posture) and pranayama (breathing exercise), helping you gain a deeper understanding of yoga and its numerous benefits. Join us on a transformative journey towards improved physical and mental well-being through our Beginners' Yoga classes.
Hot Yoga offers an invigorating and transformative experience through yoga practiced in a heated room. At Sonas Yoga, our hot yoga classes are powered by Infra-red heaters with the temperature set to 30 degrees Celsius, providing an ambient heat that feels like standing in the sun on a summer day, without the risk of sunburn.
You will explore various asana (yoga poses) and flowing sequences designed to increase flexibility, build strength, and promote relaxation. Your instructor will guide you through this challenging yet rewarding practice. Remember to bring a towel and stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water.
The heat can be a bit intense if you’ve never done it before, but it is also a wonderful way to warm your body up quickly and move into a deeper practice more quickly. Embrace this opportunity to be gentle with yourself and discover the benefits of Hot Yoga.

Kundalini yoga is a form of yoga that aims to activate the Kundalini energy, or shakti, that is said to be located at the base of the spine. Kundalini yoga involves chanting, singing, breathing exercises, meditation, and kyrias (sequence of asanas, movement, and breathing exercises that, together, bring specific benefits) and repetitive poses.
The goal of Kundalini yoga is to increase your level of self-awareness and consciousness. Kundalini energy is often compared to a coiled snake that rises from the spine to the head.

The word Ashtanga is comprised of two Sanskrit words, meaning 'eight' and 'limb'. The eight limbs of Ashtanga yoga refer to: Yama (moral codes), Niyama (self-discipline), Asana (posture), Pranayama (breath control), Pratyahara (sense withdrawal), Dharana (concentration), Dhyana (meditation), and Samadhi (oneness with the self).
This Ashtanga-inspired yoga class will integrate the eight limbs of yoga through movement, breath, mantra, and meditation. The practice begins with sun salutations, followed by a set of standing and seated postures. Breathing throughout each asana is a large focus of the practice.
The class is suitable for all levels and can be adapted to your abilities. Please note, this class will not cover the full primary Ashtanga series, and is an Ashtanga-inspired class.
