Iyengar Yoga

Iyengar yoga emphasises detail, precision, and alignment in the performance of yoga postures (asana). We use props, like straps, blocks, bolsters, and blankets, to help find proper support and alignment in our asana practice. Kundalini Yoga

Leigh Brady

Kundalini Yoga

Kundalini yoga is a form of yoga that aims to activate the Kundalini energy, or shakti, that is said to be located at the base of the spine. Kundalini yoga involves chanting, singing, breathing exercises, meditation, and kyrias (sequence of asanas, movement, and breathing exercises that, together, bring specific benefits) and repetitive poses.
The goal of Kundalini yoga is to increase your level of self-awareness and consciousness. Kundalini energy is often compared to a coiled snake that rises from the spine to the head.

Ashtanga-inspired Yoga

AnnMarie Murray

Ashtanga-inspired Yoga

The word Ashtanga is comprised of two Sanskrit words, meaning 'eight' and 'limb'. The eight limbs of Ashtanga yoga refer to: Yama (moral codes), Niyama (self-discipline), Asana (posture), Pranayama (breath control), Pratyahara (sense withdrawal), Dharana (concentration), Dhyana (meditation), and Samadhi (oneness with the self).

This Ashtanga-inspired yoga class will integrate the eight limbs of yoga through movement, breath, mantra, and meditation. The practice begins with sun salutations, followed by a set of standing and seated postures. Breathing throughout each asana is a large focus of the practice.

The class is suitable for all levels and can be adapted to your abilities. Please note, this class will not cover the full primary Ashtanga series, and is an Ashtanga-inspired class.
